Descent Into Hell

By Victoria Crouch

Limited Edition Prints, Digital collage on paper

24” x 36”

2025

Artist Statement: Victoria's work captures themes of sadness and anger - and acts as an emotional coping mechanism as well as sounding board for deep thinking. It's a place to put the heart. Much of the work is collaged digitally, but sometimes on a scanner bed merging her graphic design training with her DIY spirit.

Artist Bio: Victoria is an artist living and working in New Orleans whose work is heavily rooted in deep emotions - often exploring fear, sadness, and longing. Her work features a mix of religious imagery from her Catholic school days tied in with imagery synonymous with hardcore music - a scene she is heavily active in.

Much of her work plays with typography. In it there is a combination of illegible, handwritten type - that has the look of death metal logos - combined with the softness of script and digital type - intertwining her love of DIY spaces and her graphic design training.

“A lot of my work has deep emotional resonance. It comes from a place of putting very real emotions that I have experienced throughout life - on a page. It speaks to the beauty and range of human emotion be it from something negative to something positive.”

-Victoria Crouch, New Orleans, LA.
