A pop-up art exhibition set in defunct historic greenhouses.
Salad Days is an exhibition in historic greenhouses of the late Allen Haskell, known as ‘a nurseryman with an artist’s eye’. Salad Days reimagines the defunct glass houses as vessels for dreaming: a contemplative nursery for a more hopeful future.
From Scotland to California, 21 artist’s were chosen for their work that bridges the functional and the fantastical—pieces that feel like tender inventions, emotional relics, or hopeful fictions.
This is a celebration of the urge to ornament, to myth-make, to wool-gather—a soft rebellion against the sterile and the mass-produced.

Salad Days is presented by SSH (Site Specific Happenings), a shape-shifting arts and recreation pop-up platform for thoughtfully curated, place-based experiences. Our site-specific focus offers a more sustainable—and enticing—path forward for our collective built future.
Salad Days is curated by SSH co-founder, Mimi Pinheiro, artist and creative producer who has curated happenings, exhibitions and experimental productions from Mexico City to New England.
